I've got a brush request!

Fri Jan 11, 2008, 11:27 AM
Hey.

So at this point I think it's been well over a year since my last update (yup, make that 15 months or so). That'd because I've been busy as all hell and most of my work is in web development now, nothing that is really suited to DA unfortunately.

Anyways, I have a brush request. Not a request that somebody create what I'm looking for, but that somebody link me to some similar ones should you happen to know of some - I've been searching for a while in all the usual places but I seem to be stuck.

What I'm looking or is a brush pack (or packs) of what I'd call retro floral patterns/elements, for lack of a better description - there are several web projects I'm working on that would benefit from this touch. One great example would be this Wordpress theme's imagery: [link]

That decorative line across the top is pretty much exactly what I'm looking for in a package with several others like it.

I'd love your help on this if you know of any packages of this type of brush - any suggestions would be awesome.

Maybe once I get this out of the way I can finally develop those six rolls of film that have been in my fridge for over a year, some back as far as Ireland that I never got around to developing.

I had some time...

So I did a bit of bordering and uploading. Since I still don't have internet on a new computer of mine (to be my primary), I'm left to upload on the laptop. Anyways - I've uploaded four new photos from Ireland. I have more to come, but time is limited. I'll keep them coming gradually.

Whoa.

It's been... quite a while. I've re-subscribed, because I'm finally getting around to developing film from my Ireland trip (in August). I'm putting in the first two rolls out of six tomorrow and should have them for friday, around the same time I'll have my computer back up and running (I'll jsut say I've had a week or two of computer hell).

One picture from a roll I developed while in Ireland is below.

Good to be back. DA's been changing a lot since I last signed in, and I think it's for the better.

Sorry.

I haven't forgotten about DA. I just haven't been developing any film as of late. I have four rolls waiting to be picked up, but I need to get paid - twice - before I can pay for all of the,. Hopefully I'll be able to get a couple of them on Friday/Saturday.

Ohhhh my.

I got my film scanner today. I ordered the thing on ebay, in case I didn't mention that in my last entry/you haven't read it. It's a Minolta Scan Dual IV. It's taken my an hour or so to do the setup, installation, and to figure out the settings and such, but now I'm getting the hang of it.

Its maximum output is about 3200DPI, or 3120x4680. Outputs in TIFF for those large ones, or JPG for smaller ones. The largest output produces a file of about 80MB - I'm going to need another hard disk for sure.

Anyways, my point is - I have about 100 negatives to scan. A few of those will definitely be hitting my gallery, including some past ones that I only had 1500x1200 copies of (Kodak CD).

I'm heading into a busy few weeks with this scanning, building the website for this business, etc.
